Marla Helene Dobson passed away at the age of 77 on March 19, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona due to complications from a pulmonary embolism. She was born on October 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Queens, NY and Westbury, Long Island. After graduating from Westbury High School, she attended Cortland State University of New York for two years. Marla got a job working in customs and import duties, beginning a 50 year career as a licensed customs import broker. She was known for her problem-solving skills deciphering complex import duty schedules. Marla formed lasting friendships on the job, some that lasted a lifetime. Marla is predeceased by her mother, Miriam Kanarek Feldstein, father Jack Feldstein, and stepmother, Edith Schreiber Feldstein. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Clifford Dobson, with whom she shared 21 years of joys and sorrows, her loving siblings Barbara Feldstein Silbert, Kenneth Feldstein, Richard Schreiber, stepsons Stephen and Mark Dobson, many nieces and nephews, and the family dog, Misha. Those who knew Marla would describe her as generous, selfless, and loving. She loved watching the TV show Jeopardy, rarely missing an episode. Her legacy will live on in the stories shared by friends and family, and in the countless lives she touched with her boundless compassion. Marla may have left this world, but she will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her best.
