LDS Funeral Services in the East Valley | Temple Dressing & Latter-day Saint Burial Traditions | Abrazo Funeral Home

When a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints passes away, the funeral service carries meaning that goes far beyond the arrangements. Temple clothing, burial garments, and the sacred nature of the dressing process are not details — they are the heart of how a Latter-day Saint family says goodbye.

At Abrazo Funeral Home, we understand this. Our team is experienced in LDS funeral traditions and handles temple dressing in-house — with the reverence, the knowledge, and the care that your family deserves.

Temple dressing — what families need to know:

Temple dressing is one of the most sacred parts of a Latter-day Saint funeral. The deceased is dressed in their own temple garments and white burial clothing before being placed in the casket. At Abrazo, this process is handled entirely in-house by our team — with full understanding of LDS standards and complete respect for the significance of each step.

Families should bring the deceased's own temple garments and white burial clothing. If these are not available or the family needs guidance, our team will walk you through everything calmly and without pressure. We have done this many times and we know how to make a difficult moment as peaceful as possible.

Coordinating with your LDS ward or stake:

Hindu tradition calls for cremation as soon as possible after death — ideally within 24 hours. Abrazo Funeral Home takes this urgency seriously. When you call us, we begin coordinating immediately. Call us at any hour — we answer 24 hours a day.

Serving LDS families throughout the East Valley:

We serve Latter-day Saint families in Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler, San Tan Valley, Apache Junction, and the surrounding communities. The East Valley is home to one of the largest LDS populations in the United States, and we are honored to serve these families. Our team comes directly to your home — you do not need to travel to our Apache Junction location.

Pre-arrangement planning for LDS families:

One of the most loving gifts a Latter-day Saint family member can give is a pre-arranged funeral plan. Documenting your temple clothing preferences, your desired service format, and your burial wishes means your family will not have to make those decisions during the hardest days of their lives. Abrazo offers in-home pre-arrangement consultations for LDS families throughout the East Valley — at no obligation.

Abrazo Funeral Home has been family-owned and operated since October 2021. Our founder David Allen has been a licensed funeral director since 2011, has owned and operated six funeral homes, and has personally served thousands and thousands of families throughout his career. Our combined team brings over 45 years of funeral industry experience. We are backed by a $500 satisfaction guarantee — if you are not completely satisfied, we refund $500.
