Brenda Ellington, was born in Seaside, California at Fort Ord. She is the eldest daughter of the late Velma J. Augustine and Bennie C. Ellington as well as stepfather, Staff Sergeant Richard Augustine, Sr. (retired). She graduated from Seaside High School. She joined the marching band and became head majorette. She attended Monterey Community College where she received an AA degree. She played the piano prolifically and was able to play ‘by ear’. Brenda loved to dance and during her teenage years she danced on American Bandstand. She was extremely gifted and talented and excelled in her class as a gifted student. One of her major goals was to travel with her animals. She truly loved dogs and she was quite adventurous.

After marriage, Brenda moved to Germany for a few years and returned to live in California. She is survived by her two children, Triqnic ‘Missy’ Bloodsaw and Edward Arnold Bloodsaw. Corporal Brenda Ellington served in the United States Marine Corps; her duty station was in Washington, DC as an Administrative Clerk. After returning to Phoenix, Arizona, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with honors. Brenda worked at Intel. where she later retired.

She is survived by her two sisters, Ms. Deborah Mack, Dr. Dorothy Augustine, and a brother Specialist 4 (Army), Richard Augustine, Jr. (transitioned 2013). She is also survived by her oldest granddaughter Imani Kadiajan Nave-Bloodsaw who is in the Navy and is presently stationed in Norfolk, VA. Brenda is also survived by other grandchildren and great grandchildren living in Arizona. She has several nieces and nephews: Tony Mack, Michael Wells, Velma Mack, Richard Augustine, III, Robert Augustine and Miranda Augustine, Sabrina Barr, Shayla Blanton, Brandon ‘Buddy’ Howard, Lauren Dorsey, Shayla Dorsey, and Tobia Enrique. She has a host of other great nieces and nephews as well as cousins, aunts and uncles as well as friends and acquaintances.

Finally, we would like to recognize and acknowledge her dearest friend and greatest supporter in her life, Mr. Anthony Brown…. ”We Thank You!”
