Brent Farley, age 79, of Gilbert AZ, passed away on August 18, 2022. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Janene Moody Farley, his 6 children and 17 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 4160 S. Ranch House Pkwy in Gilbert, AZ.
 

Brent was born and raised in Orem, UT. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 2 years in Australia. Brent always sought to further his education, attending ASU & BYU, ultimately obtaining his PHD.
 

Brent loved music. He sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in UT and the Millennial Choirs and Orchestras in AZ. His greatest passion in music was directing, and for many years he impacted college students for good as he directed show choirs at the Logan, UT Institute of Religion for The Church of Jesus Christ at USU (from 1982-1998) for the choirs known as Sounds of Zion, which turned into New Horizons. Brent’s career was with CES (Church Education System). The majority of his career was spent teaching The Gospel of Jesus Christ at Seminary and Institute. He also served on the church writing staff, writing and supervising writing of several manuals.

He had a passion for writing and wrote poetry, children’s books, and religious books and manuals. His lifelong passion was serving his Savior Jesus Christ and other people. He also served his country in the Army National Guard for 8 years.
