Daría Isabel Morales Saavedra (Taty Guzmán), passed away peacefully at home on the 15th of May. The second of six children, she was born in Huaraz Peru the 25th of October, 1954 to Maria Saavedra and Aurelio Morales. After she graduated at a girls school in Huaraz, she studied to be a secretary. She worked at several government and private offices in Peru over the years. She married Edmund Guzman (Julio) in 1980 after being together for 4 years. The couple had seven children, five boys and two girls. She adored her family, she learned from her dad and always said: “the blood calls and connects us in a very special way, it gives you life and makes you part of someone else.” She and her husband moved to Gilbert Arizona at the end of the summer of 2016. She is preceded by her two sons Michael and Gary. She is survived by her 9 grandchildren, husband, and children: Carlos (Vitalia), Italo, Marysabel (Nilton), Gary’s wife Mayra, Glenda (Joseph) and Julio. Taty was a fighter, her name is among those that fought for the creation of the University in Huaraz, a University that now serves many communities in the area. She was fluent in Quechua, a native tongue that she learned out of curiosity to know what people around her were saying. Her dominion of this language allowed her to broaden her influence and service. She loved accompanying her husband to teach in rural communities, where she was the interpreter for him, and she was very loved by the people she served. 

The services will be held on May 21st 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Maplewood Building: 3775 S Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297.  The viewing will commence at 6:30pm and the funeral services at 7:30pm.

Arrangements are being made for the burial to take place in her home country of Peru.

Daría Isabel Morales Saavedra (Taty Guzmán), falleció tranquilamente en su casa el pasado 15 de mayo. La segunda de seis hijos, nació en Huaraz Perú el 25 de octubre de 1954. Hija de María Saavedra y Aurelio Morales. Después de graduarse en una escuela de mujeres en Huaraz, estudió para ser secretaria. Trabajó en varias oficinas gubernamentales y privadas en Huaraz, Perú a lo largo de los años. Se casó con Edmund Guzmán (Julio) en 1980 después de haber estado  juntos durante 4 años. La pareja tuvo siete hijos, cinco varones y dos mujeres. Ella adoraba a su familia, siempre decía algo que le enseñó su padre : “la sangre nos llama y nos conecta de una manera muy especial, te da vida y te hace parte de alguien más”. Ella y su esposo se mudaron a Gilbert Arizona a fines del verano de 2016. Le precedieron sus dos hijos Michael y Gary. Le sobreviven sus 9 nietos, esposo e hijos: Carlos (Vitalia), Italo, Mayra (esposa de Gary),  Marysabel (Nilton), Glenda (Joseph) y Julio. Taty fue una luchadora, su nombre está entre los que lucharon por la creación de la Universidad en Huaraz, Universidad que hoy atiende a muchas comunidades de la zona. Ella hablaba con fluidez el quechua, una lengua nativa, que aprendió por curiosidad de saber qué decía la gente a su alrededor. Su dominio de este idioma le permitió ampliar su influencia y servicio, le encantaba acompañar a su esposo a enseñar en comunidades rurales, donde era su intérprete, y era muy querida y respetada por las personas a las que servía. 

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el 21 de mayo de 2024 en la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días: 3775 S Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297. El velorio comenzará a las 6:30 p. m. y los servicios funerarios a las 7:30 p.m.

Se están haciendo arreglos para que el entierro se lleve a cabo en su país de origen, Perú.
