Delbert Leon Lank, age 81, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on November 6, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on August 21, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, to Sylvia and Robert Lank, Delbert's life was characterized by his loving nature, gentle spirit, and unique sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him.

Delbert grew up in Wichita and attended Wichita High School West, where he laid the foundation for a life of service and commitment. Following his schooling, he answered the call of duty and joined the United States Navy. His service was marked by honor and courage as he served on the USS Constellation and the USS Midway, dedicating four years to his country.

After his military service, Delbert embarked on a successful career as a machinist, a trade that showcased his precision and attention to detail. His work was not just a job but a testament to his dedication and skill, qualities that he carried into all areas of his life.

In his younger days, Delbert was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and golf. These activities reflected his love for nature and his active spirit. As he transitioned into later years, his interests shifted to more serene pastimes. He could often be found playing bingo, meticulously tending to his lawn and garden, and being a devoted fan of various sports, watching games on TV.

Delbert's home life was filled with the love and companionship of his two dogs, Lady and Milo, who were his faithful friends and brought him immense comfort and happiness.

Delbert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rikki (Wyrick) Lank, his parents, Sylvia and Robert Lank, and his brothers Donald, Ronnie, and Lawrence Lank. The legacy of his son, Jeffery David Lank, and daughter-in-law, Shonna Lank, also lives on in the memories they shared.

Delbert's memory will be carried forward by his son, Drake Anthony Lank, his three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His sisters, Linda Robertson, Patsy Swinicki, and Phyllis Goicoechea, along with his brothers, James and Robert Lank, will fondly remember their brother's laughter he brought to their family gatherings.

Delbert Leon Lank will be remembered as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Those who knew him were touched by his kindness and enriched by his humor.
