Johnny C Stewart Obituary

Johnny C. Stewart, 55, known affectionately as John, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on July 21, 2024, in Florence, Arizona. Born on August 21, 1968, in Galesburg, Illinois, John's life was marked by his generosity, humor, and loving nature, touching the lives of all who knew him. John proudly served his country in the Navy in his younger years, a time that instilled in him a sense of discipline that he carried throughout his life. After his service, he dedicated 25 years to working as a Correctional Officer for the Arizona State Prison, a role in which he was well-respected by his colleagues. A graduate of Wyoming High School in Wyoming, Illinois, John was known for his quick wit and ability to make others laugh. His humor was a beacon of light, bringing joy to everyday moments. John's spirit of generosity was evident in all aspects of his life, whether he was sharing his time, resources, or a kind word. An avid outdoorsman, John's favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting. He found solace and joy in the serenity of nature, often sharing his love for the outdoors with his friends and family. John's legacy includes not only the memories of these adventures but also the values of patience and appreciation for the natural world that he instilled in those around him. He is survived by his daughters, Cora Marsh (John) and Savanna Stewart, and his son, Johnny Stewart, and grandchildren, Ava, Sadie, and Radley. John also leaves behind his caring sisters, Bobbi (Dave) Mosier and Dawn Berchtold. His nieces, nephews, and his special friend Laura and stepchildren Tina and Danny will remember him for his playful teasing and boundless love. He held a special place in his heart for Scott and Brittany Yates, whom he considered family.  John was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Cora Raley, his maternal grandparents, Sherm and Rebecca Raley, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Berchtold. John's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt. His spirit, characterized by his loving and generous nature, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. John's legacy is not only in the laughter he shared but also in the kindness he showed and the love he gave so freely. As we bid farewell to Johnny C. Stewart, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of cherished moments, laughter, and love. His memory will be carried on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his extraordinary spirit.
