Paul Wesley Moberg was born on January 11, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, to Wesley and Jeanette Trestrail Moberg. He died on October 19, 2024 at 72 years of age. 

He was predeceased by his father, mother, grandparents, many aunts and uncles, wife Clarice (Skip) Moberg, mother-in-law, Mabel Keech Reinitz; father-in-law, Clyde Keech, brothers-in-law Wally Tiefenthal, Larry Severson, Richard Keech, Jeff Jackelen, Mike Gits, and Jim Goblirsch.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia of Mesa, AZ; stepchildren Jeff (Lori) Grapentine of LeSueur, MN; Suzette (Joe) Jensen-Blake of Arlington, MN; Nathan (Jennifer) Grapentine of Belle Plaine, 13 step grandchildren,18 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Gary) Tinsley of Phoenix, AZ; Leslie (Mark) Thorkelson of Menomonee Falls, WI; Betty (Cary) Hiner of Olathe, KS; and Judi Severson of Northfield, MN; brother, Ken (Tina) Moberg of Wausau, WI; many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law: Bill (Kathy) Keech of Le Center, MN; Jason (Tracy) Keech of St. Francis, MN; sisters-in-law Bonnie Keech of Henderson, MN; Bev Carey of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Cindy Jackelen of Henderson, MN; Nancy (Steven) Graumann of Waseca,

Paul was born into an Army family of 6 children, so he and his siblings were “army brats” and they managed to live up to the nickname! Army life entailed moving every 2 to 3 years to different Army posts all over the U.S. for their dad’s new assignments, including
Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Monroe, VA; Fort Ruger, HI; Fort Sheridan, IL; Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; as well as Plymouth, MI, Hinsdale, IL, and McLean, VA. 

Paul often had a hard time fitting in with new homes, schools, friends...moving so much can be hard on a kid. Saying goodbye so often to friends and classmates can be a difficult life. But eventually he always made good friends wherever he was. 

He graduated from high school in Colorado Springs after his dad retired from the Army and at that time Paul enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. His time in the Air Force was spent stateside in San Antonio, TX as a security officer guarding the military airplanes. Paul was a Vietnam Nam era veteran. 

After his service he moved to where his mom and dad had moved, Phoenix, AZ, where he found many challenging jobs, sometimes working nights at car dealerships shining up new and used cars. During this time he developed a love for music, mostly country, and he eventually opened a small record shop in Chandler, AZ. This was Paul's passion and he loved it. 

It was in Arizona where Paul met his future wife Skip and they lived in Mesa but in time moved to Northfield, MN. Paul's sister Judi loved having them close and Paul had a good job at Menards but he couldn't handle the bitter cold and snowy Minnesota winters. Skip passed away during their time in Northfield, but then the good Lord sent him our amazing Patricia, another beautiful bride for Paul, and once again they were off to Arizona! 

Paul was so blessed to have had the love of those two beautiful women and the constant loving care of Patricia for the past eleven years. He would have been lost without his Patricia in the last years of his life.

Paul will be remembered for his large caring heart, endless generosity, his kindness to all, his abundant laughter, his love for the Lord, and his ability to fall asleep at any time, anywhere, and wake up instantly and rejoin the conversation without missing a beat!

His memorial service with military honors will be held at The Citadel, Desert Rose Community Room in Mesa, AZ on his birthday, January 11, 2025. Burial will be in the Cave Creek National Cemetery in Cave Creek, AZ.
