Paul Walker Montague, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, due to natural causes.

Born on April 2, 1947, in Boise, Idaho, Paul’s life was marked by his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, and his generous spirit.

Paul’s journey began as the son of Wallace and Maxine and brother to Carol, Dea, Mark and John. His early years were filled with hard work, sports, learning and laughter. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. Paul excelled as a salesman for Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi. In later years he was a juvenile probation officer and brought smiles to many as a friendly school bus driver.

In every role, Paul’s work was characterized by his integrity and his genuine desire to serve those around him. Yet, it was not his professional achievements that defined him, but rather his profound love for his family and his steadfast Christian faith. Paul was a pillar of strength and support to his wife, Verla, and an exemplary figure to his children, Tiffany, Duke, Elizabeth, Mark, and Becky.

Paul’s life was a testament of his love for his Savior. He regularly served in the temple. His selflessness knew no bounds, and his optimism shone like a beacon to all who knew him. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in his community. Paul’s love for his family was his most defining trait; he reveled in supporting his children and grandchildren in their various activities and sporting events, always their most enthusiastic cheerleader.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Paul will remember him as a man who lived his life with purpose and kindness. His legacy is one of love, service, and an enduring optimism that inspired everyone he met. As we reflect on the blessings he brought to our lives, we hold fast to the memories that will forever keep him alive in our hearts. Paul’s story is one of a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who have had the good fortune to cross paths with this remarkable man.

A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building located at 422 E University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85203 on Saturday, November 15th at 10:30 AM.

A family viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM and the public viewing will be from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.
