It is with great sadness that I announce that my sweetheart Richard Padilla passed away, Wednesday November 8, 2023 of a Hemorrhagic Stroke.
Richard Jess Padilla was born May 3, 1942, to Jess and Tillie Padilla in Superior, AZ. Married his high school sweetheart Schella Stacy in 1961. He received his associate degree from Mesa Community College and spent his life in the finance industry. He lived in Utah, California and New Mexico and returned home to Arizona in 1998.
Services will be held Friday, November 17th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1521 E. Bella Vista Rd, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143. Viewing will be held at 10:00 am to 10:50, Funeral 11:00 am with burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa.
He loved his family above all else. He set the standard for our family on how a man should love, live and act. He served others daily, always cheerful, full of love and compassion for all, his passions were golf, fishing and his family. He loved to travel and explore the world. Married to the love of his life for 62 years. Survived by Schella Padilla, wife, seven children, Lisa Brinkerhoff (Michael), Leslie Brown (Marty), Aaron Padilla (Jenny), Jennifer Whelan (Rich), Kierra Lewandowski (Rich) and Emily Jackson (Brandon), 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Sisters, Christine Castillo, Jacque Hocklander (Neil), Antionette Temple and brother Eric Padilla, Aunt Bertha Martinez as well as numerous Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
Preceded in death by Michelle Duggan, daughter, brothers and sisters, Joseph Padilla, Janis Padilla, David Padilla, Cathy Spargo, and Mark Padilla.
