It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Dean Everett, who peacefully left this world on September 18, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Mesa on May 14, 1948, to Roy and Zovah Everett, Ron spent his entire childhood in the same home his family moved to shortly after his birth on South MacDonald. It was there he developed a deep love for all things that fascinated a young boy, especially cars.

Ron attended Mesa High School and graduated in 1966. Shortly after high school, he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War, where he spent 18 months as a helicopter mechanic, in service to his country. Upon his return, Ron reconnected with Judy Curtis, a high school sweetheart, and the two rekindled their love. They were married in 1972, and shortly after, sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

Ron’s passion for cars continued throughout his life. He began his career at General Motors Desert Proving Grounds as a test driver in the truck and bus division, retiring 30 years later as a Sr. Technician, a job he loved. In his "retirement"  he did contract driving with a lifetime mileage of over 2 million miles. Throughout his life, he had an impressive collection of cars, and he could tell you the make, model, and year of every car he’d ever owned. Ron was a skilled auto mechanic, able to fix just about anything and loved working with his hands. He served countless people with this talent, always willing to lend a hand, whether it was for a neighbor or the neighborhood kids needing their bikes repaired.

Together with Judy, Ron raised four children in Mesa, where he lived his whole life. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church callings throughout his lifetime. His dedication to his faith, family, and community was evident in everything he did.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Zovah Everett, and his sisters, Jackie (Jerry) Johnson and Lisa (Kevin) Judd. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Curtis Everett; his four children: Russell Everett, Marshall (Dawnele) Everett, Bradly (Heidi) Everett, and Lacy (Nathan) Jones; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his sister Tina (Mike) Judd.

A memorial service to honor Ron’s life will be held on October 4th, 2025 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 422 E University Dr. In Mesa. Interment services will be in the morning, preceding the memorial services, at 9:30 am at the City of Mesa Cemetery. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the love and support they’ve received during this time.

Ron will be remembered for his love of all things mechanical, kind heart, hard work ethic and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
