Ruth Ann Greenway, 84, of Gold Canyon, AZ / Mancelona, MI passed away on June 23, 2026.
Born on October 27th, 1941 in Evansville, IN, Ruth lived a life marked with artistic talents, infectious enthusiasm, and a generous spirit that will continue to uplift and motivate us. Her memory will be a blessing that keeps on giving. She taught in the Utica, MI Community Schools for 30 years and kept in touch with past students.
Ruth is survived by son David (Laura), daughter Dena (Tony), grandchildren Ethan, Claire, Hanna, and Lilly, and her younger brother Steve Sturgell along with several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Greenway, her parents Virgel and Margaret Sturgell as well as older brother Frank Sturgell.
Beyond Ruth’s teaching life, she enjoyed painting, dancing, crafting and spending time with her family. Those who knew Ruth will remember her kindness, humor, dedication, and laugh.
Ruth will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her presence.
